Fees and Payment

Hay Counselling Fees

My standard rate per 50-minute session is £80.

Fees are the same for both in-person and video sessions.

I offer one-third of my spaces at reduced rates for those on limited incomes, but all these spaces are currently taken. If you need a reduced rate, there may be availability with the Affordable Therapy Service located at the Hay Counselling offices.

Payment

Payment is easiest and simplest by bank transfer, made each week in advance of your session. For in-person sessions, you can alternatively pay by cash or cheque at the beginning of the session.

For international clients, I can accept payment by money transfer services such as Wise, or by PayPal.

If you prefer to pay monthly, please let me know and we can discuss this.

Scheduling and Cancellations

Sessions last for 50 minutes and are normally scheduled on a weekly basis, at the same time each week. When you first contact me I will let you know what regular timeslots I have available. Even if I don’t have something suitable for you right away, I may have another space coming available in the next few weeks.

If you need to cancel a scheduled session, I will always try (and am often able) to find an alternative time-slot for you during the same week, either in person or by video. However, in order for me to run my practice efficiently and fairly, if it’s not possible to reschedule, cancellations with less than one week’s notice are charged in full.

Private Health Insurance

I am a registered practitioner with Aviva, AXA and BUPA private health insurance. If you have mental health cover with one of these providers, they may be able to cover the cost of some or all of your sessions. Just check with your insurer how many sessions will be covered, and whether or not you’ll need a referral from your GP.

Once your insurer has agreed cover, I will liaise directly with them for payment.
