Making Change Possible

Think You Might Need To Talk To Someone?

Counselling and Psychotherapy, Hay-on-Wye, Hereford, Brecon, Builth Wells, Kington, Presteigne, Talgarth

Have you been trying to find ways to feel better, but can’t seem to make much headway on your own?

Maybe things look fine on the outside, but under the surface you’re struggling to cope.

Talking things through with a professional therapist can help you contain and resolve difficult feelings, understand where you are, and find your unique path forwards.

My name is Sarah Hamilton. I work with adults of all ages (there is no upper age-limit for achieving change in therapy), and specialise in resolving issues related to trauma and PTSD. I have particular expertise in supporting those on the autistic spectrum, and adults who went to boarding school.

I help people:

  • Overcome trauma, and find peace and healing
  • Find relief from anxiety and depression
  • Transform anger and low self-esteem
  • Navigate bereavement, divorce, and other difficult life experiences
  • Find the courage to live richly and fully

Am I The Right Therapist For You?

Sharing your most sensitive problems can feel daunting, even risky. So it’s really important to choose a psychotherapist or counsellor you feel comfortable with – someone who is the right ‘fit’ to help you achieve change.

The way I work integrates many different therapeutic approaches. Our work may be brief, or continue long term. But my focus is always on ensuring that the changes you achieve in therapy will ‘stick’, and that you leave with a strong, confident and resilient sense of self.

“Sarah is kind, warm, diligent and robust; an experienced, skilful therapist with a well-trained and diverse toolkit.”

Clive Oxford, NCPS (Senior Accredited) – Psychotherapist and Clinical Supervisor

Truly effective therapy is about more than just support and advice. That’s an important part of it, of course. But achieving real change also involves wise curiosity, careful challenge, and courage. It’s often the unexpected questions or the overlooked details which provide the key to change.

This is, necessarily, a joint endeavour. It will require your active engagement, and my full attention.

I don’t know in advance where our conversations will take us. But I do know that whatever your story, wherever you find yourself now, every part of you will be welcome in our sessions.
